Jason Line wins NHRA Pro Stock in Dallas

We are so proud of you Jason!  Team Findlay Chevy is doing great! Let's keep the points going!

Two-time Mello Yello Pro Stock world champion Line earned his second victory of the season and first in the Countdown by outrunning Shane Gray in the final round. Line powered his Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro to his second Texas Motorplex win with a performance of 6.590 at 211.16 to hold off Gray’s Camaro. With the victory, the 31st of his career, Line claimed the Pro Stock points lead for the first time since 2011.

“I’m happy to get a cowboy hat,” Line said, referencing the prize winners at Texas Motorplex receive. “The points lead is definitely a big deal. From where we were two months ago to leave here as the points leader is a small miracle for sure and a testament to all the Summit folk.”

Line outran Texas native Rodger Brogdon, reigning world champ Allen Johnson and veteran V. Gaines in the first three rounds.

“It was definitely a strange final but we won,” Line said. “Timing is everything and this is a big win being that it’s my 31st. You have to be willing to go backwards sometime in order to go forward. We have a great car and we’re going the right way.”

Pink Camaros Are All The Rage

Findlay Chevrolet's Pink Camaro as our tribute to the American Cancer Society.

Photo: The Chevrolet Camaro is proud in pink at the Atlanta race weekend in support of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. It's making its debut today at the Survivor Day, in honor of continuing the fight against breast cancer.
"Making Strides Against Breast Cancer"  pink Camaro pace car made it's debut last weekend in Atlanta.

Whether or not you can see yourself driving a pink Camaro - lots of celeberties drive pink cars- you have to admit that the color makes a statement. A statement for a good cause.  I believe that the pace car raised around 9 thousand dollars last weekend.  A great start to raising money.

Here at Findlay Chevrolet we are "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer"! Please help us make a difference and make this horrible disease a thing of the past!! Join us October 5th, 2013, at the JW Marriott in Summerlin for this amazing annual Walk/Run Event! Please click on the link provided here to become a part of TEAM FINDLAY CHEVROLET! We need Team Members!! Don't forget to donate! No donation is too small! We need your help!! If you need information please contact Mike or Kat at 702.982.4093 or 702.982.4016.  They are our Team Findlay leaders and will be more than happy to help.

Our pink Chevy Camaro is for sale now - the pace car most likely at the end of the season.

Jason Line Wins the Spring Nationals

A couple of weeks ago our Summit Racing Team came to visit for our Racing Appreciation Day.  We had a great time with the drivers of our Pro Stock Camaros.
Yesterday Jason Line won the NHRA Pro Stock division at the Spring Nationals in his Summit Racing Chevy Camaro. He posted a 6.589 for a 211.99 mph win.  He's had a tough time this year but the tables have turned and we look forward to more wins this year!
Go Jason Go!

Racing Appreciation Day was Fantastic!

The turnout for our Racing Appreciation Day was great and the cars were hot!  The drivers did interviews and besides the 2 Camaros we had HTown Racing's car, a nitro fuel funny car, of course our own Dawson Racing's dragster, a 1952 3100 truck that was really sweet, and assorted other classics. Here are some pictures of the event but keep on the lookout for video and interviews!

The Z/28 is Back!

My first car was a 1967 Z/28 that I dearly loved. Wish I still had it.

Are you as excited as I am about the 2014 Z/28?  It's a gorgeous car called "the most track-capable Camaro ever" right off the assembly line.  The outside is beautiful and the seats are sexy.  The exterior has been revised for high performance aerodynamics ... more efficient cooling and stability at high speeds! And, like the original, it will only come with a manual transmission!

According to Mark Reuss, president, GM North America:  "As the ultimate track-capable Camaro, this car restores the mission of the original Z/28 and serves as a testament to the expertise of Chevrolet as the best-selling brand of performance cars" and "This car could only come from Chevrolet and could only be called the Z/28."

The hand assembled 7.0L LS7 engine (think Z06) delivers at least 500 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The chief engineer says "The broad torque curve and high redline of the LS7 mean fewer shifts are required and the lightweight design improves the front to rear weight balance for better handling."  We should be getting the Z28 late this year so if you are wanting a track ready Camaro or just want to relive the Camaro of your youth...please let  me know!
